In the Playground exhibition, Saadia Hussain examines the challenges and opportunities she faces as a human, woman, mother, Swedish and muslim in a world full of divisions. Saadia works with contrasts, she simplifies and uses symbols to discuss the complexities in a playful way. With a picture of a burning fire in a shopping cart, she questioned our consumption society. An aircraft symbolises the fear of Muslim terror. The Russian baby doll becomes a picture of how things can consist of several layers. Everything is not as simple as it may look at first sight.
