GROWING TOGETHER

2021 Vivalla, Örebro

Is a public art project commissioned by Örebro Konsthall. Saadia Hussain was assigned to transform Kastanjegården's preschools dining room through art.

Together with the preschool children and staff Saadia Hussain examined, planned and developed ”WE GROW TOGETHER” which consists partly of wall-hung reliefs and ten sculptures on wheels that serves as room dividers. The movable sculptures can be rolled away and used as scenery for a disco or a play, or to quickly transform the dining room according to the need.  

The shapes are inspired by the forms of trees and of a mothers body to create a landscape which feels safe and joyful. An environment were children gather to have their daily meals together and grow.
