HAMLÆ

An Artist-duo = Shora Dehnavi & Saadia Hussain

HAMLÆ is a combination of the word "hamla" in Urdu and "hamle" in Persian. Freely translated, it means attack. Common to our ways of creating art is to "take over" a place. HAMLÆ thus became a perfect name for our artist-duo.

We want to unite and change surfaces but also attitudes. We see this as an opportunity for us as artists to unite our expressions and also dare to explore new work processes. The different places we land at will create unique starting points for creation and direct the process in a direction that we will follow. We also want to open up and share the space by inviting the audience to co-create with us.
